New this year: KAEE will be hosting a Sustainability Symposium located in Berea, Kentucky. It will be one day full of information, presentations, local foods, and tours! We will be talking about how sustainability has been part of KAEE’s story, what sustainability means to us today, and then we will go see it in action!

Tours will include some of the college campus and community projects, including the Ecovillage. We feel that Berea is a great place to start conversation about what sustainability means as an organization and to you as our members!

Registration is now open and is $25 for students, $35 for KAEE members, and $45 for non-KAEE members. Cost includes lunch with healthy, local foods and all field trips. SEEA and KAEE 36th Annual Conference – Call for Proposals

Save the Date! September 14-15, 2012, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park

Theme: Creating Balance

The Southeast Environmental Education Alliance (SEEA) will be hosting its first conference in conjunction with the KAEE conference this year.  Join us for a great conference and hear from presenters across the Commonwealth and the southeast.

As environmental educators, we take a non-advocacy stance on environmental issues because our goal is to educate others and teach them how to think, not what to think. This difficult balancing act inspired the theme for KAEE’s 36th annual conference: “Creating Balance”.

The Call for Proposals has officially opened and an online submission form can be found http://kaee.org/conference/call-for-proposals/. Please feel free to pass this on to other people if you’d like them to submit a proposal for our review. We’re always happy to hear from new people who are interested in the many sides of environmental education! Proposals are due by April 15, 2012.
